As part of my HIST 170 class, I am required to participate in 10+ hours of community service. When I found that out, I thought, "Oh MAN, I don't have time for that kind of stuff right now!" But then I had the most brilliant idea ever.
As some (if not all) of you may know, our Young Men/ Young Women group participated in a Halloween service project last year. We volunteered at the Trick or Treat Street held in the South Towne Expo Center, and I had a blast. So this year I thought to myself, "Why not count THAT as community service?" I talked to my teacher and he gave it a thumbs-up. Woo hoo!
It didn't work out QUITE as I had hoped (I ended up having to miss a class on Friday so that I could be there at the right time, and I had to take TRAX there, which was not so fun, although I did have one of my friends with me so it wasn't so scary), but it was still a lot of fun. I ended up getting 12 hours in as opposed to just 10. (Although, to get that many hours, I had to work a 7.5 hour shift on Saturday, which I wouldn't recommend to anyone who wants to keep his/her sanity; they play the same songs over and over, and there are enough lights flashing to cause a minor seizure. But not like that bothered me. Heh.)
Seriously though, to anyone with little children, the Trick or Treat Street is a fun idea. It's supposed to be a safe alternative for Trick or Treating on Halloween Night, it lets you show off your cute children and their costumes (there were so many cute little princesses... it was adorable) and it gets you a lot of candy. "Candy out the wazoo," as I heard people saying. For those of you who DON'T have little children, but who are still children at heart (that's me right there), I recommend this as a great excuse to dress up in fun costumes and serve your community while you're at it.
Happy Halloween!
P.S. And no, I did not get any pictures. I left my camera home both days, and it's not like there was an abundance of time for taking pictures... you're pretty much on your feet for the entire time. I think that the longest sitting break I had was 5-10 minutes long. And during that time I was organizing boxes of candy so that I COULD sit, or at least think about sitting. *Whew!*

*Sigh.* You know you're a college student...
...(especially a second-year student) when you find that you have no time to post to a blog that you created only because you had so much time on your hands in the first place.
...when you begin to miss the seemingly endless, and ever more dreamlike hours to kill in which you sat in the hall, ate Funyuns, and posted at least once a day on your blog that you have only because you were bored during work.
...when you find that your favorite pair of pants (which is usually your ONLY pair) has finally gone through the wash after being worn two or more consecutive times, which means that now you can wear them again for two or more consecutive times.
...when you spend most of your waking hours at school. (And, in my case, work does count; I am on campus from around 7:15 a.m. to at least 3:30 p.m, sometimes longer. That chunk of time right there already takes up more hours than I sleep at night, and I'm usually still "at school" when I'm at home... homework never sleeps.)
...when a sandwich from the Bookstore tastes like the best meal you've ever eaten.
...when you fear that the world's forests are about to disappear from your doing alone, what with all the papers you have to write and the Kleenex you have to use. (Just FYI, I haven't gotten sick yet, but it's only a matter of time.)
...when you started this post two weeks ago and it still hasn't been finished.

So You Think You Can Dance Tour- It was awesome!
Do I really need to say any more?
Ok, ok... I'll expound a little bit. Yesterday I went to the SYTYCD Tour with my older sisters at the "E" Center. It was great fun. My only problem was that the music was too loud, but what do you expect?
Speaking on music... check this out! (For anyone who doesn't really know or care, this link is as much for my benefit as it is for yours.)

I must confess...
So. I ordered myself a MacBook. I know, I know... everyone I know will be rolling their eyes and moaning, "Why, Lady Type, why?" And I'll tell you why.
*Ahem* 'Cause.
OK, so there are WAY more reasons than just "'cause." But I don't feel like putting them all into this post right now. Lemme just tell you this. I love my old lappy, but I felt like I wanted to upgrade sometime before I moved away and had to start paying for food, rent, utilities, and all those other things. I figured that I should deplete my resources NOW while I have the resources. I know, I know. It's not very good logic. I guess I've never been logical. So sue me. ;-)

I'm Back!
For those of you who don't know (it's funny how many of my posts have started with those exact same words), I am back and living in Salt Lake for good. Until I move out, that is. (But I don't know when that will be, so don't hold your breath. *wink wink* You thought you could get rid of me so easily, huh? Well bwa ha ha haaaaaa! I ain't going nowhere, yo!)
Yeah, it was fun in Provo, but I am glad to be home, mostly because now that means I won't have to wake up at 5:00 AM to get to work on time. THAT was a killer. Let's just hope that I don't forget that I'm back in Salt Lake and hop on the 801 to Provo and realize, too late, that I am on the completely wrong bus. (That would not be funny while it happened, but afterward I would get a real kick out of that.)
I just realized that other than being back in Salt Lake, I have nothing interesting to say. Everything else is pretty much unchanged. I work all day, I haven't been to any cool parties, there are no vacations or days off from work in sight, and school doesn't start for another month. (Well, a little less than a month. Which reminds me.... I should prolly go figure out what textbooks I need soon. *Sheepish grin*)
Um... lemme see... I went to see WALL-E the other day. Hi-larious. A definite must-see. Oh, I've also seen Get Smart. It's funny as well, but WALL-E is the one that you'll want to see first.... trust me.
Well, blog on, my friends. Until next post, I'm Some Crazy Person. (And I can assure you that I'll be Some Crazy Person next post too. That just doesn't change.)

I await with great anticipation...
Oh man. I am so excited. Breaking Dawn is almost here, and my sisters and I are gonna have the most fun party EVER tonight! Everyone will tremble before the fury of our homemade T-Shirts and our deadly accurate trivia knowledge.
Team Edward all the way. Or at least Team Cullen. Hm... or maybe Team Carlisle. Oooh! So many options!
And then guess what we get to do the next day after zero hours of sleep because we were reading B.D. all night long! We get to go to Build-A-Bear for my number one Mom's birthday party! Doesn't that sound like just a jam-packed-fun weekend?
(I really have no idea why I even posted this post, seeing as how all -or most all- of the people who read this blog already know about the various parties. And I think that the majority of the people who read this blog are going to BE at the various parties.)

Work is funny... especially today
It's the day before Pioneer Day and you'd think that I wouldn't be super-busy because everyone is out preparing for holiday festivities. And you'd be right. Except, of course, for the fact that when one person calls with a problem, that means EVERYBODY starts calling at the EXACT SAME TIME.
I am not joking. It was dead silent for about an hour and then all of a sudden, the phone started ringing. I picked up the phone and it started ringing on the other lines as well. And you've got to understand something about my work phone. If someone calls you in the middle of another call, you can't just transfer the person already on the phone whenever you please and THEN pick up the other line... you have to answer the other line(s) first. And if you've got, say, five other calls on the line, you forget where you need to transfer people and they end up waiting for a ridiculously long time to talk to whomever it was they needed to talk to. (Although we do have really cool hold music. I think it's the MoTab singing "Love at Home." Maybe the pretty music is supposed to have a calming effect on the callers. You never know.)
Man. Crazy stuff.

Fun in the Sun
This past weekend I had the opportunity to take some time off from work and go on a little vacation with my family and my sister's in-laws. Here's how it went:
After work on Wednesday I was picked up by my mother and little sister ("Steenie"). We got home, had a quick bite of dinner, and then hooked up the trailer and headed for one of our many Camperworld campgrounds which is located near Starvation Reservoir. (Oh! On the way there we saw the biggest elk I have ever seen. It looked almost like a moose, it was that big.) Anyway, we got to Starvation at about 8:00-ish and we set up camp. It was very windy and the mosquitoes were eating us alive, but we finally managed it. After we got set up we went down to the reservoir to skip rocks. That was fun. Then we went to bed.
The next morning we had a quick breakfast and then we broke up camp and headed to yet another of our Camperworld campgrounds, this time located near Flaming Gorge. That afternoon after lunch we went to a little beach (I think it was called "Sunny Cove") and went swimming. We had dinner, had a small campfire, and then watched "Enchanted" on our tiny little TV in the trailer.
On Friday it was rafting day!!!! Erachamay and her in-laws drove up to meet us at the raft rental place (which happened to be right next door to our campground), and then we headed down to the Green River for some rafting fun! We all went down the river the first time (there were eleven of us including my little one-year-old nephew). It took us about 2 hours to reach the bottom end. (Heh. My two sisters and I jumped out of the raft when we got in sight of the landing dock area. Boy, it was COLD! But I'd rather jump out than get thrown out.) Oh, it was so pretty! I recommend it to anyone who couldn't come. We had lunch at the bottom end of the river, and then we drove back up to the top to go it again (this time minus one nephew and his two grandmas). It took us about 1.5 hours the last time. And yes, I didn't put on nearly enough sunscreen. I was toasted by the end of the day. We had a fun hot dog roast after we took the raft back, and then it was time to call it a day.
Saturday was our "drive home and get everything unpacked" day. On Sunday I was a visitor in my own singles ward. And now it's Monday.
If you hadn't already noticed.... I had so much fun and I would so do it again although next time I have to put on more sunscreen!!

Life in Provo
To anyone who doesn't know, I'm living with my sister in Provo while her husband is off conquering llamas in Peru. (Or at least the law, if not llamas.)
So far it's been fun. A little stressful, perhaps (what with me having to wake up at 5:00 in the morning in order to catch the bus that will get me to work in SLC on time), but fun nevertheless. There's not a whole lot to DO in Provo if you're in Salt Lake for most of the day, but so far we have managed to find the time to go shopping twice (and come away with some dang-cute things) and watch several movies in order to expand my cinematic horizon. (We've watched Treasure Planet and Jurassic Park. Oh so great movies.) We have also gotten dinner at a great place called Zupa's. They have excellent soup and sandwiches there. Seriously, I'm not a soup person, but this place makes me want soup.
Well, that's about it so far. Between work, bus rides, and sleep, I've managed to squeeze in a few hours of Provo living. Rock, rock on.

Warning: Shopping Maniac
Oh man. So Steenie and I went to the Gateway yesterday for one last sisterly shopping trip before I move. That was a bad idea. (But don't get me wrong... I don't regret it at all.)
So we went to the Gateway looking for clothes, right? We each wanted to update our wardrobe (well, in my case, the words "image overhaul" come to mind; it's time for a drastic change- no more T-shirts and jeans every single day!), so we went to several stores looking for cute, different, hopefully inexpensive (or at least not ridiculously overpriced) clothes to add to our stores. I had no such luck... but that doesn't mean that I didn't buy anything.
We were in Wet Seal (not a store that I would recommend: the music is too loud and they don't have a lot of cute clothes, although there are a few roses among thorns) looking through the racks upon racks of clothes when I saw it. It was the single coolest thing in the store (apart from a really cute brown "safari-type" button up shirt that didn't fit quite right and didn't have a small enough price tag). It was hanging from a peg amid all the yellow and black, which makes sense, because it's yellow.
I'll bet you're wondering what it is. Well, here's a picture.

It's a purse. Isn't it cool? (Only mine's not blue. It's yellow.) Yeah, Christine convinced me to buy it, even though I really don't need it. (But we figured, "Hey, we're here and you might as well buy something." Not good logic, but the damage is done.)
Yeah. It's dangerous to take me shopping.

Life Comes At You Fast
So much has happened since I last posted. And not all of it is fun.
For those of you who don't know, the CGF and I are no longer together. Here's what happened, if you really want to know. (*WARNING!* Reader Discretion Advised. Deep, Dark Secrets coming up. Not really. It's just kind of sappy. And awkward.)
Our ward was kinda scheduled to go do Baptisms for the Dead on Saturday morning, and the CGF was going to come pick me up. He got to my house, but his tire was flat so I had to drive Mom's car. We got to the Temple and no one from our ward was there, and there was this HUGE youth group in front of us and neither of us really wanted to wait that long to do Baptisms, so we went walking around the Square. Now, he and I had been talking before about our relationship and where it was going. He was sure that he liked me, even loved me, but I wasn't entirely sure how I felt about him. I mean, I liked him, but I got the feeling that he liked me a whole lot more than I liked him and I wasn't starting to like him any more than I already did. I did a lot of thinking and praying about it, I decided that it was time to end the relationship (I didn't want to do it, because I'd had such a good time with him. We could talk to each other and he liked me the way I am and I was grateful for that, but I felt like it was what I had to do.) We can still be friends, but I don't see us as anything more than that. I feel bad because the CGF told me that he thought I was the right girl for him, but I just didn't feel like he was the right guy for me. Weird, huh? I just hope he doesn't have too hard a time forgiving me and letting go. And the other weird feeling is that even though he may not think it's the right thing, I do think it's the right thing, and I haven't cried about it or thought about taking it back and going back to him.
On a lighter note, I am going to live with my sister for the next month and a half, and I just have to say that I am SO FREAKING EXCITED!!! It'll be a little inconvenient living in Provo and working in Salt Lake, but I think it will be a great experience. I can barely contain my glee (as you may have already noticed.)
Well, gotta go. I'm at work right now and it is rather busy, surprisingly. That may not be the case later on today, but we'll see.

Today, the 19th of June
So I feel like I should really update my blog (since my last post was on my birthday, it kind of feels like I'm bragging and showing off every time I view my blog... yeah, my birthday is SO old news), but there is really nothing that I can say to make it worth creating another post. (Heh. So I'm doing it anyway.)
---If you really want to know what the CGF got me, and why... keep reading---
I could say that my CGF, in a wondrous bout of sweetness, bought me a present for NO REASON the other day, or that I'm starting to work full time on Friday, or that wild ponies ran through our backyard last night, or that Steenie and I are creating a Sidewalk Chalk Mural on our back porch... but they're all a little "insignificant" if you know what I mean. They got nothing on, say, new air conditioners or cute babies (like my neffy-poos) or things like that.
---If you really want to know what the CGF got me, and why... keep reading---
So the CGF and I were walking around the Gateway the other day. (We were going to a concert in the Brigham Young Park, but we had an hour to spare, so we walked around the Gateway.) We went into Bath and Body Works (my all-time favorite store EVER) and I found a large-size bottle of Warm Vanilla Sugar lotion for only $5. I was soooooo tempted to buy it, but I (with the help of my CGF) convinced myself not to get it.... y'know, save my money for more important things. The next day I got a call from the CGF and he told me that he had a surprise for me and that he'd drop by my work to give it to me. It turns out that he BOUGHT THE LOTION FOR ME for no reason other than he thought it would make me happy. Good. Grief. That guy is WAAAAAAAaaaaaaAAAAYYY too nice to me.
Anyway, that's my story.
Anyway, that's my story.

Happy Birthday to Me!
Well, so far it's been an interesting day. It hasn't felt like my birthday. That's still mostly because it's FREEZING outside. And I have to work.
You wanna know what I got? Yeah, didn't think so. But I'll tell you anyway. I got a special edition of Stephanie Meyer's "Eclipse." It's cool; it's got the first chapter of "Breaking Dawn" in the back, and it also came with some Team Jacob and Team Edward iron-on decals. (Or whatever they're called.) Fu-un. I also got some new bed sheets. They are striped-y cool. And then I bought myself a new shirt (it's way cute... and orange) and some Bath and Body Works stuff.
Oh, and guess what. My Certain Gentleman Friend came by my work today with flowers, a gigantic eclair (from Dick's, he said) and a balloon. Isn't that sweet? That guy is too nice to me.
Whoopee!! After work I get to go out to dinner! (With the family.) We're going to The Training Table (I think). Yay! I'm excited.
Thanks to everyone who called me today and/or gave me something. It was very much appreciated.

What to post...
Here I am, sitting at work with nothing in particular to do. This job is still in the "halfway between merging jobs" stage. Meaning that there isn't a whole lot for me to do with the phone operating and the same goes for the helpdesk. Grr.
So it's my birthday party tonight. And I keep forgetting that it's my birthday tomorrow. It really hasn't felt like June mainly because the weather hasn't decided if it's spring or winter and also because I am actually going back to school (or work, if you want to get technical, but since I work at my school, it feels like school) for my birthday as opposed to getting out of school.
Well, anywhoo, I gotta "get back to work." Heh. Riiiiight.

F.Y.I.
I am risking much googly-eyes and "ooooooOOOOOOOOooooooos" from my sisters by writing this part of my post, but I figure I should just get on with it.
As most, if not all, of you may know, I have been seeing a Certain Gentleman Friend quite frequently. So yes, you could consider us to be "dating." And just so my sisters can stop asking me every time I talk to them (I love you guys!!): Yes, I do like this Certain Gentleman Friend. Quite a bit, actually. And I think it's safe to say that I'm pretty dang sure he likes me quite a bit too.
There. I said it. I am internally bracing myself for a flood of gushing and giggling that I know will ensue once my sisters read this post. Heh. Still love you guys!!! :)
In other news, I had my first day of work yesterday, and lemme tell you... it was not what I was expecting. I got to work about half an hour early (7:30) and sat around on the 9th floor (which is where the Helpdesk is) until about 8:10. Then my boss showed up and said that a lady on the 2nd floor was waiting to train me as a phone operator. I went downstairs, thoroughly confused. I got trained until I was overloaded with information (so, for about 15 minutes) and then I sat there listening to my iPod for an hour before my boss came down to explain what was going on. It turns out that the Helpdesk is moving from the 9th floor to the 2nd floor, and that it (the Helpdesk) and the Phone Operator departments are sorta merging into one. Confusing, I know. And I also found out that my job is very, very part time. (Like, from 1:00-3:00 every day or mostly every day until fall semester starts.) Oh well. At least it's something.
So yeah, that's my life right now.

Rejoice!!!
So, I just noticed that it has been a while since I updated this post. Man. So much has happened since then.
But I digress. You must be wondering what "Rejoice!!!" is supposed to mean, and that's the point of this post: I Got A Job!!!
Granted, it's kind of my old job back again, but still... ! Here's the story: my old boss called me up and said he was in a pickle; the guy who is working at the help desk (which is not where I worked before, but it's and extension of my "department") right now is going to BYU and my boss needed someone to take his place... so he called me up. And I accepted. Hooray!!! I can stay on at the help desk when fall semester starts, or I can go back to being a computer lab assistant if I want. (Which is probably what I want. I dunno.)
Yeah, that's my "rejoice." Oh, and sooner or later I'm gonna put up a slideshow of our recent camping trip, but that's going to have to wait until I have hi-speed internet to use.
Laters!

Kind of Sad, But Really Funny Story
Here we go:
You know how in those cartoon movies someone will start vacuuming and they'll end up sucking something up that shouldn't be sucked? It's, like, a cartoon law (right up there with "don't-fall-until-you-look-down"). But has that ever happened to YOU?
Well, it's happened to me.
I was vacuuming my floor yesterday, and not really paying attention. I had left two small socks on the floor in front of my dresser, and I didn't feel like bending down to pick them up so I decided that I could just push them out of the way with the vacuum. "They're not small enough to get sucked up, right?" Wrong-o!
The next thing I knew, one of the socks was whisked out of sight with an odd shvloorckt and the vacuum started making an unhealthy noise. I think it was choking. I immediately turned it off and laid it on the floor so that I could try to get the sock out. Except that the sock wasn't visible like I thought it would be.
It turns out that the sock got sucked UP THE TUBE and it proved very difficult to get out. Luckily, Dad was home (with a cold, which is not so lucky), and with his help we managed to get that sock outta there. (It involved using an old broom handle and much struggling.) It was wrapped up in this tiny, compact little ball, and it was absolutely filthy. That poor little sock.
In other, unrelated news: I got to help Carrie tend Eldon and another little boy the other day. It was fun. Ask me about it later. :)

Tra La La
"Tra la la la la. Spring is in the air, and I am a beautiful little flower... with nothing interesting to say."
That quote sums up my life. (Except I'm not exactly a beautiful flower, and spring is having a tough time making it into the air.)
Yeah, since my last post, not a lot has gone on. Let's see... I bought myself Twilight, Ptolemy's Gate, and Artemis Fowl #5. I got Mom a GREAT Mother's Day gift. (She'll LOVE it! For those of you who don't know, I bought her a certain *ahem* aerosolular movie. Yup. You spray it on your hair. Don't tell Mom!!!!! And don't let her read this until after Mother's Day!!!!!!!!)
Yeah, other than that, nothing much has happened. And that means that I haven't found a job yet. Grr.

Sick
Yup. I have a full-blown cold over here. But, strangely enough, the cold is not the reason why I haven't updated for the last week. Nope. It's the lack of Internet what does it.
Perducci!!!!
Seriously though. I don't even know how I got this cold. On Sunday my throat started hurting, and the next day (you guessed it... Monday) it was a little worse. Unfortunately that's the day that I went to play with Erachamay, so I was all sluggish and tired and my head hurt and I felt bad that I didn't have enough energy to have more fun. Don't get me wrong. I had a LOTTA fun. Just not as much as I would have had if I hadn't had a cold starting.) It's weird: usually when I get sick, I'll either get one of those two-day colds that aren't enough to put you out of the game, or a mega cold that will leave me flat on my back for a week. This cold, surprisingly, is in the middle.
Yeah, who cares about my cold? Boring!!!
Um, let's see... what did I do that was fun? Oh, yeah. I went to Springville to play with Erachamay and her little Tyler :). I also rode on the Front Runner on Saturday (but since all of my readers are people who already knew that, I won't go into detail.)
Gah!!! My computer is being more annoying than usual!!! (I'll start typing and the cursor will magically appear in a spot other than the one where it should be, and it's Driving Me CRAZY!) So I'm gonna have to cut this post a bit short.
Oops, too late. It's already too long.

Long Time, No Post
Man, man! It seems like forever since I last updated. I used to update, like, once or twice a day at school, but since school (with the fast wireless connection) ended, it means that I won't be updating much for the next few months.
Hey! My digital camera arrived on... Tuesday? Yeah, I think it was Tuesday. I'm excited!
Really, other than that, I have nothing to say. You'd think, what with school being out for a whole week now, that I'd have something more interesting to say. But I have nothing. Nada. Nope.
*Sigh* Such is my sad and boring life.

So get this...
So... today is the last official day of school! (For me, at least.) Yes, I know classes ended yesterday, but I still had to come in to work today.
Only there was this little problem. Graduation Commencement was scheduled for today at 2:00 in the afternoon, and the Institute Choir (which I am in) was obligated to sing for Commencement. So I had to be there. Here's the problem: my work shift started AT 2:00 PM!!! Figure THAT one out.
Miscommunication. That's all it comes down to.
Now, I have known about Graduation for weeks. My choir teacher has stressed the importance of our being there many times, so I knew that I couldn't miss it (even though I wasn't exactly thrilled with the prospect of being there.) What I DIDN'T know was that I was expected to work that day. (My boss never told me and I didn't think to ask... I thought that the college would be closed completely after the semester ended. That's a nope.) Anyway, I was expected to be in two places at once, and I was going crazy. (I'm talking about last night, by the way.)
So I emailed my boss saying that there might be a problem with me getting to work on time, and I told him why. He emailed me back this morning and said that it was okay, I could come into work when I could. (Just as long as I came.) So... I feel a little bit better.
What I feel really bad, angry, annoyed, and upset about is the fact that I was under the delusion that Graduation started at 1:00 or 1:30. And I told my boss so. But I was mistaken. (The choir was told to meet at the Assembly Hall at noon. I thought, "Oh, we probably only need half an hour to rehearse and then half an hour for lunch, so I guess that means we start around 1:00 or 1:30." Again with the nope.)
What I'm really trying to say is: I WAS TWO HOURS LATE FOR WORK BECAUSE SOMEONE HAD TO SCHEDULE GRADUATION FOR THE MOST INOPPORTUNE TIME EVER!!!

Absolute Frustration
Arrrrrgggghhhh! (No, I'm not a pirate.)
I just got an email from my boss saying that he wouldn't need ANY lab assistants over the summer break (from April until June.) He seemed sincerely sorry about it, but this is bad, bad timing. Since I wasn't going to be working in the lab much over the break, I wasn't as upset as I could have been, but it is still highly annoying.
Here's the deal: For the past few weeks, my boss has been telling all of us lab assistants (or "labbies") that he didn't need all of us to work during the summer break or else we would use up all of the budget. That made sense to me, and since I live at home and don't need to pay for rent or food, I decided to step aside and let other people have first priority. None of us (including my boss) really knew what was going on... we didn't know how many "not all of us" would be, and what we would be doing and if there really was anything to do. Not a great situation.
Then, in our most recent meeting, my boss informed us that he didn't think the computer lab would even be open during the summer break. (Brief moment of panic for all of us.) He lessened the blow when he said that instead of having one person work in the lab like he originally thought he would, he would have one person work in the library... you know, keep all the computers in there under control. (Ok. It sounds ok so far... maybe I can work once or twice every other week...)
Then, today, the LAST DAY OF CLASSES, he sends out this email saying that "Never mind, I really don't need any of you to work during the break." Grrr. Perducci!
This means that I REALLY have to look for a job now. One that can keep me occupied for about 2 months. And I REALLY hate job hunting. Really. Hate. It. It took me two to three months to find the job that I have now, so by the time I get a job, I'll have to quit it to go back to work in the lab. Not. Cool.
So double and triple grr over here.

Fun Time
So.... what do you do when your early class is over and your later class is two hours later? And there is a shopping mall within walking distance? That's right, go shopping.
I confess. I like to shop. But I also hate spending too much money. But sometimes my love for shopping overpowers my semi-frugalness. When that happens, I usually come away with... some... stuff, and I usually feel guilty (but usually only when Mom gives me that "Oh-no-you-bought-MORE-useless-stuff?" look, and that "You-do-know-that-you-have-to-pay-for-your-own-tuition-right?" look.) But this was for a worthy cause!!! I just bought about two-thirds or more of my summer wardrobe. (The other fraction of my wardrobe will come from what I already have and Good Old D.I.)
*Sigh* I wouldn't have to resort to El Expensivo places like the Gateway for clothes if I could guarantee that Good Old D.I. would provide cute, in-style clothes. (And by "in-style" I don't mean "It was hip in the 70s!" you know?) And usually when Good Old D.I. has cute clothes, the cuteness is mostly determined by ultra-low cost. If I saw something from Good Old D.I. in one of them El Expesnivos, I wouldn't be as inclined to buy it. The cuteness goes down as the cost goes up. (In some cases. Not all.)
So, grr, but I had a great time. And I bought cute stuff. You should see them sometime.

Moving to the digital age
Heeeeeeeeeey guess what! I just bought myself a digital camera. Cool, huh? I probably don't need it, but it will be a good investment. I grew up with all those old school cameras... I figure that it's high time to get myself up to speed. No more film! View pictures and delete the ugly ones before you print them! Such fun. I think that I'll be more inclined to take pictures now.
Now hopefully I'll remember that I bought it...
Now hopefully I'll remember that I bought it...
Blister Geist
I am one big ole blister geist all over, man. You want to know how? Probably not, but I'm going to tell you anyway. (That's the way blogs go. At least as far as I can tell.)
Yesterday after conference (which was great, by the way) the family went for a walk. It wasn't a very long walk; maybe 20 minutes or so. Still, I came away with at least three blisters on my feet. You might be thinking, "What's wrong with your feet?" The right question to ask, however, is "What's wrong with your shoes?" Huh. NEVER go on a walk with D.I. Sunday shoe specials.
Ooh, and later on in the evening I was being a nice, kind sister by sharpening all of Steenie's (that's a nickname for my little sister, by the way, to anyone who doesn't already know) colored pencils, and now I have two very painful blisters on my right hand. My writing hand. Not cool.
So now I'll give my fingers a break by ending this post. Adieu... for now.

I'm confused
So... I logged into my blog today and I found that the template had been changed. (What the...?) I was kind of annoyed, and a little nervous. (Did someone other than me change the template? Weird...). I went to the "Pick a New Template" page and I found, to my dismay, that the template that I had had before was no longer there. This explained the unexpected and unwanted template change, but I'm still kinda huffy about it... I liked the old one. Moomph!
I guess I'll have to get used to this new one.

Mmm... pizza
Oh man, I love the end of the semester. It's when all (or most all) of the teachers are at their nicest (this is AFTER your class final, of course; before the final they are unbearable) and they see fit to bring food for all their poor, overworked students.
I love free food.
So, on Tuesdays and Thursdays I have my religion classes (B.O.M. and Institute Choir) and I think that the Institute was giving out donuts to all the religion classes because there was a box on the table in my B.O.M. class (I don't know if anyone had one though)... anyway, I got food in both of my classes. My B.O.M. teacher made us all some delicious homemade cinnamon rolls (still not as good as Mom's, however) and in the choir we all got pizza. And I got the last donut from the box that was left from the previous class. Heh heh! Mine-all-mine-all-MINE!
Yeah, it was great. I didn't have to bring a lunch today. So good.

Slightly Guilty
*sob* I confess! I did it! I BROKE THE COLOR PRINTER IN THE LAB ON CAMPUS!
No, I didn't REALLY break it, but I feel responsible...
I was working late last night, and some lady came up and asked me which tray the color printer printed from. I said I didn't know for sure, but we both figured it was the top one... seeing as how the bottom one didn't have any paper in it. This lady had a piece of very glossy paper in her hand, and I should have guessed what was going to happen right then and there. But I was kind of out of it (working for six consecutive hours can do that to you), and I thought that the glossy piece of paper was just glossy, and not twenty times thicker than the normal paper used in the color printer.
Much to my consternation, however, a few minutes later the color printer made this horrendous noise that could be heard by all in the computer lab (and which one person said sounded like "someone blowing their nose") and then the printer became deathly quiet and refused to print anything else. I pulled up the trusty computer software that lets me see how things are going in the labs and it told me what I already feared... that there was a jam in the output bin. (Great. Just great.)
Now, the printers in the main computer lab sit on a high table which makes them almost impossible to reach for a person just barely topping five feet. Especially this color printer. Getting to the output bin was beyond my capacity, so I just sat for the last twenty minutes of my shift trying to pacify the concerned users who were attempting to print from the color printer. *Sigh*
But other than that, I'm okay. School is almost over, and I am overjoyed. (Now all I have to do is figure out what I'm going to do over the summer. Heh.) :)
No, I didn't REALLY break it, but I feel responsible...
I was working late last night, and some lady came up and asked me which tray the color printer printed from. I said I didn't know for sure, but we both figured it was the top one... seeing as how the bottom one didn't have any paper in it. Techical Difficulties
Um, there used to be a different post here, but I decided to get rid of it. There is now nothing here.
Grr and more grr
By "Grr" I mean that I am rather put out and am about to go insane.
Well, not today, maybe, but on other days at this time I have to exercise all of my self-control so as not to pull my hair out.
I work in the computer lab on my college campus, and no, it is not the most glamorous job in the world. But for me and my still-living-at-home situation, it is just about right. (Thanks to my brother-in-law for hooking me up with it!) It was just about right, that is, until I got landed with a 6 hour shift and my boss implemented the "Don't play games or watch TV shows or cartoons or things like that" rule. Now, I'm a big girl, so I won't break down and cry, but when you have to sit for 6 hours in a rather small computer lab, and you can't relieve the boredom with a few of your favorite TGS episodes, it starts getting to you.
Yes, and I know that there are people out there (myself included, occasionally) who will say, "You have to know where your boss is coming from. He sets the rules (he's your boss) and you should honor those rules. Try finding something else to do." Well, it's hard finding something else to do when you've already read every book that you own at least once, your homework is most-if-not-all done, and ALMOST EVERY FREAKING WEBSITE IS BLOCKED.
Once again: Grr.

A bag of Funyuns and a trusty laptop
What do you do when you don't have any homework and you have two hours to kill? That's right, eat Funyuns and put more unnecessary posts on your blog.
Y'know, if I were home, I could be, say, reading a good book, or riding my bike, or making dessert or something slightly more constructive. (But only slightly.)
I just had a thought: what about when the semester ends and I may or may not have to work? I'll probably have endless hours to kill, and what'll I do then?
Hmm... the possibilities are endless.
Hey, if you have any good suggestions, hit me with 'em!

Another Day, Another Post
Woo-hoo! It's the end of the semester in about 1.5 weeks! Cannubelieveit? No, neither can I. And you'd think that I would be working my face off with finals and stuff, but I find that I have more and more time to do absolutely nothing at all. (I think that's why I even created this blog in the first place.)
Meanwhile everyone else that I know is about to drown from the enormity of their own separate workloads, and I'm thinking to myself: "What's the matter with me? I have no life!!!"
Heh, enjoy it while you can, I say.

Look who broke down and got her own blog!
Hey everyone!
Since all of my older siblings have blogs, and I am in desperate need of something to do during work, I created my very own, bonafide (that is totally spelled right), for-realio-and-trulio, no denyin' it blog! (*Trumpet fanfare and much streamers and confetti here.*)
Yeah, it's not that cool.
To tell you the truth, I have no idea how to do blogging stuff, so anything you see here will be me winging it. A lot.
So yeah. I'll see how this works...
